HP-UX releases are composed of several CD ROMs. Each subsequent
HP-UX version has several enhancements incorporated. However, each
CD ROM is typically superseded by a newer version and is assigned
a unique part number of the form BXXX-XXXX. These newer CD ROMs
are cumulative and should be used only with the same HP-UX releases
or later. Mixing older CD ROMs (e.g. an HP-UX 10.20 Install Core
CD ROM with an HP-UX 10.10 Extension Software CD ROM) is not supported
and may result in an unrecoverable system.
The matrix below
lists the latest applicable CD ROM part numbers. Please note
that these may not be the same as existing CD ROMs. Customers on
support contracts or those that - regularly buy the HP-UX Media
kits would see the latest numbers. Older CD ROMs should be adequate
unless newer hardware is being added.
