HP-UX Support Plus Release  for June 2003

HP is pleased to announce the latest release of HP-UX Support Plus.  These tested bundles include patches that fix HP-UX defects, enable new hardware, and provide diagnostic tools.  Support Plus is available to customers by request only.  Please use the following information to decide whether this release is right for you.

Please note that the HP-UX 11.0 version of Support Plus was not updated on the June 2003 release.   With the upcoming discontinuance of HP-UX 11.0 in March 2004, the amount of new functionality and features in HP-UX 11.0 decreased.  Consequently, for June 2003, no changes were required for HP-UX 11.0 patch bundles, new hardware support, or diagnostic tools.  The most recent HP-UX 11.0 Support Plus  was March 2003.

Future System Planning

In order to assist you with your future systems planning, Hewlett-Packard would like to remind you that HP-UX Predictive Support will be discontinued on June 30, 2003.  As part of this discontinuance process, after the March 2003 release, it will not be delivered on the HP-UX 11iv1 Support Plus media and will be removed from the HP-UX 11.0 Support Plus media at the September 2003 release.  After June 30, 2003, HP-UX Predictive software will no longer be available on Software Depot.  HP-UX Predictive end of service begins on April 1, 2004.  After this date, Predictive events for HP-UX will no longer be processed.

As part of the HP-UX Predictive Support discontinuance, all HP-UX Predictive Support customers running HP-UX 10.20 or 11.x will be grandfathered-in and entitled to HP Instant Support Enterprise Edition.  You will continue to receive remote monitoring capabilities for your HP-UX Predictive supported products through the use of ISEE, HP’s next generation remote support solution.

ISEE provides continuous hardware event monitoring and automated notification to help identify and prevent potential critical problems.  Should a problem occur, ISEE enables faster restoration of your supported systems and devices, using remote diagnostic scripts and direct remote secure access by an HP support engineer.

HP encourages you to begin using ISEE as soon as possible so that you can reap the additional benefits of this new technology.  Starting March 2003, ISEE is included in the Support Plus media for your convenience.  For more information on ISEE, you can visit http://www.hp.com/hps/tech/resources/elect/isee.htm.
