New release available of HP OpenView Performance
Insight for Networks 4.6!

We are pleased
to inform you that HP OpenView
Performance Insight for Networks 4.6 – (PI46UP) is now available.
New Release: HP OpenView Performance Insight for
Networks (OVPI) 4.6
o New ease of administration capabilities
o New forms capability to make provisioning updated
report packs easier
o Re-written MIB browser common with HP OpenView
Network Node Manager (NNM)
o All NNM MIBs ship with OVPI
o HP-UX Platform Support – HP-UX 11.00, 11.11
o Solaris Platform Support - Solaris 8 (Solaris
6 and Solaris 7 are not supported)
o Windows Platform Support - Windows 2000 with
Service Pack 3 (Windows NT is not supported)
Updated OVPI Report Packs (you should have already
received information about these Report Packs in a separate “Reporting &
Network Solutions v3.0” document)
o Updated Interface Reporting V3.0 for 4.5 and
V3.1 with new 4.6 forms capability (supported
on OVPI 4.6)
o Updated Device Resources V2.0 for 4.5 and V2.1
with new 4.6 forms capability (supported
on OVPI 4.6)
o Updated Frame Relay V3.0 for 4.5 and V3.1 with
new 4.6 forms capability (supported
on OVPI 4.6)
o Other OVPI report packs will
be updated later, to take advantage of the new 4.6 forms capability
OVPI
4.6 is an upgrade to OVPI 4.5. There
are no plans to provide HP sponsored upgrade services from 4.5 (and earlier
versions) to 4.6. Until further notice, OVPI 4.5 will
continue to be supported as per the guidelines published at support.openview.hp.com/prod_version_obso_guidelines.jsp
NOTE: Due to conditions beyond our
control, Microsoft plans to end support for Microsoft Windows NT 4.0 Server.
This event affects HP’s ability to continue to provide our customers with
the level of support they have come to expect from us. In order to provide you with our stated level
of support for OVPI 4.5, we highly recommend you upgrade your systems to Microsoft
Windows 2000 well in advance of the published Microsoft Windows NT 4.0 Server
deadlines.
Important! OVPI Report Pack Obsolescence Planning Information!
In order to assist you with your future planning, HP is making
the following obsolesence information available to you at the earliest possible
time. We plan to discontinue support for the following Report Pack versions:
q Interface Reporting
1.0
q LAN/WAN Bundle
4.1, Bay/Cisco Router Bundle 4.1 and Frame Relay Bundle 4.1. These Report Packs were formerly sold by Trinagy,
prior to HP’s acquisition of Trinagy.
This
letter serves as HP OpenView’s formal announcement of the planned obsolescence
of the above mentioned Report Pack versions.
