* Virtual Machine Management Pack and Server Migration Pack were previously installed as Virtualization Management Software. Server Migration Pack has moved to the HP Server Migration Pack – Universal Edition Application and Boot CD. Server Migration Pack 2.2 or earlier is uninstalled when Virtualization Management Software is upgraded to Virtual Machine Management Pack 3.0.

·   Changed SMH, VCRM and WMI Mapper to be explicit components

·   .NET 2.0 is a prerequisite to install Rapid Deployment Pack, and is automatically loaded if necessary.

·   New Automatic Logon feature for installations requiring a reboot mid-install.

·   Insight Control Management user interface now supports for Firefox browser (although some ICM components do not support Firefox)

·   The Insight Control Management installation and uninstallation events logged in HP SIM now list the components and their status.

·   Installation log files are now created in separated directories for each execution of the ICM installer.

·   Upgrade support from Insight Control Management 1.10, 1.11 and 2.00. Upgrade support from Insight Control Data Center Edition 1.0, 1.0.1, and 1.0.2.

·   Updated Insight Control Environment pre-requisite tests

·   Installation now supported on Microsoft Windows 2003 R2 SP2 (Standard or Enterprise Editions).

·   Documentation for HP Performance Management Pack and Vulnerability and Patch Management Pack is now included in the Insight Control Management documentation.

What’s new in SMP Universal 3.0:

·          SMP Universal 3.0 replaces SMP 2.2 and SMP-P2P 1.4 with a single product that does P2ProLiant, V2ProLiant, P2V, and V2V migrations

·          SMP Universal can be run standalone or can integrate with HP SIM by installing on the HP SIM CMS

·          SMP Universal can queue multiple P2ProLiant and V2ProLiant migrations to process multiple migrations faster.  Concurrent migrations still supported for P2V and V2V.

·          Supports new ProLiant hardware and virtualization platforms.

Starting this release, you can install PMP on a supported Windows 64-bit operating system and configure it as an Analysis Server.

 

New Browser support:

PMP supports Firefox 2.0.0.6 or higher.

 

Scalability Support

   PMP is scaled to monitor up to 2000 servers with Single Analysis Server.

 

Removal of licensing mechanism

·          The licensing mechanism control is moved from HP SIM to ICE. Licensing mechanism for Integrity server systems is removed and the Integrity server license is available for free.

·          Licensing mechanism for the external network storages, attached with the server is removed. All the attached external storages with that particular server can directly be monitored without licensing.

 

Analysis Server - CMS Licensing

·          The licensing mechanism control is moved from HP SIM to ICE and hence, Analysis Server - CMS will not be available for free and has to be licensed.

             

What’s new in Vulnerability and Patch Management Pack 2.1.1:

·          VPM version 2.1.1 supports new Microsoft® data feed catalog file formats.

·          Vulnerability and Patch Management Pack (VPM) version 2.1.1 resolves minor installation and application issues.

·          Evaluation licenses are now available as part of Insight Control Environment suites.

·          VPM documentation is now contained in the HP Insight Control Management documentation.

 

 

What’s new in Insight Power Manager 1.30:

·          Support for HP Insight Power Manager Electronic Licenses (Americas only)

·          Support for HP BladeSystem c3000 Enclosure

·          Support for HP ProLiant BL 680c G5 server blade and xw460 workstation blade
