RAMS 5.5

HP Route Analytics Management System (RAMS) V5.5 is now available with the following enhancements:

 

RAMS 5.2 enhancements:

·         Distributed RAMS, the ability to have multiple route recording appliances and a centralized modeling engine

·         RAMS 5.2 supports the Proliant DL360 G5 and DL380 G5 platforms plus the NC340T four-port PCI-X option card and the NC360T two-port PCI-Express option card.

·         Enhanced BGP Peering Management

·         The Daily Report has been split into two separate reports: a health report and a routing report

·         Extra zooming functionality has been added to the History Navigator

·         A new "Go To Time" button has been introduced in the status bar of the Traffic Reports window.

·         Access to online events display has been made easier.

·         A new feature which provides the ability to customize router names as displayed in the GUI

·         A new feature which provides the ability to customize AS names as displayed in the GUI

·         The animation control panel has been enhanced so that it is dockable

·         A new Network Summary panel is displayed in a corner of the routing topology map. 

·         In addition to FTP service, RAMS now supports an SFTP Server for uploading or downloading files to/from the FTP area.

 

RAMS 5.5 enhancements:

·         Export syslog messages to an external syslog server

·         DNS resolution for Router names in SNMP traps

·         Visualize LSA activity and BGP update activity as a graph

·         In the Event panel, identify BGP route announcements separate from re-announcements (route attribute change without withdraw)

·         Defect fixes


Important: Permanent licenses for RAMS 2.5 though 3.7 versions will need to be migrated for the RAMS 4.5 release. To request the new passwords, please contact one of the HP Password Delivery Centers listed at http://www.webware.hp.com and provide the following information:

 

·         SAID/system handle,

·         Company name,

·         deviceID,

·         old RAMS product numbers, and

·         quantity of RAMS licenses requested.

 

This package includes a new HP OpenView RAMS recovery CD.

 

NOTE: The recovery CD completely reinstalls the appliance software, and will not preserve the existing configuration or data. The above update instructions however, can be used to migrate your existing RAMS appliance preserving current configuration and data.

Perf Insight 5.3

HP Performance Insight 5.3 Software comes with the following new features and enhancements:

·          Support for HP UX 11.31 on Itanium

·          SiteScope Report Pack

·          Business Process Insight (BPI) Report Pack

·          Increased performance through revamped application server

 

This release also includes the features and enhancements from HP Performance Insight 5.2 release from July 2007:

·          Increased scalability and stability through features such as location independent reporting, long term data retention on the most popular report packs, and improved performance of data loading

·          Better performance especially on Oracle

·          Support of Oracle 10g

·          Easier to use day to day administration and maintenance through better internal monitoring, improved node management, node delete functionality on key report packs, easier to understand error codes, and improved event logging and notification

·          Easier to use reporting for systems performance with the addition of a collection wizard to collect any metric collected by the HP Performance Agents and support of HTTPS

·          Support of Sybase 15

·          Support of Red Hat Linux AS 4.0 x86
