April 2007 Update

 

The following HP software releases are now available:
Asset Center 5.01 (ACT501)
Service Center Knowledge Management Search Engine 1.1 (SC62LP)
OVPA, GlancePlus PAK v C.04.60 (GPP46A)
Enterprise Discovery 2.20 (PED220)
Network Configuration Manager 3.6 (NCM036)
HP OVIS 6.20 (OVIS62

ASSET CENTER 5.01 (ACT501)
HP AssetCenter software introduces the following new enhancements:
Modern open, standard, architecture
Web enabled, with shared end-user interface
Scalable multi-tier architecture, designed to support large organizations
Based on industry standard J2 EE web architecture

Out-of-the-box business services
Allows IT to communicate with the business in their language
Service modeling wizard to create business services and model relationships for greater impact analysis and asset utilization
Catalog Management to publish services and submit requests

Software Asset Management Module Enhancements
User-profile management ensures user roles and responsibilities are aligned with their discrete tasks
Out-of-box templates provide simplified and complex calculations to help better measure license compliance

Guest User licensing
Provides a low-cost license option for users that only need light-use of the application
Users can seamlessly view, approve and submit requests for goods or services Empowers users by providing them quick access to view and update their assets as well as, view other assets within their department

Business end-user interface
Available end-user interface with only the most commonly used fields and tabs
nterface can be tailored for business users

Language Availability
AssetCenter 5.01 is currently available in English, Japanese, French, Italian, German, Spanish, Simplified Chinese and Korean Unicode

HP Glance Plus & Perf Agent 4.6 (all platforms) - (GPPA46A)
HP OpenView Performance Agent and/or GlancePlus 4.6. This new version 4.6 has many new and exciting features as summarized below.
o Support for heterogeneous virtualized environments o VMware ESX Server, HP-UX HPVM and IBM AIX LPAR
o Configurable logging interval o New threshold based logging and flush interval o Enriched set of metrics What is not new: o datacomm (same as OVPA4.5)ARM o tools - extract, utility etc.
o DSI interface

HP Enterprise Discovery 2.2 (PED220)
The following are just some of the new features included with HP Enterprise Discovery 2.2: Enhanced Support for Virtualization environments
Now supports Solaris containers to provide an inventory per virtual machine.
View the relationship between a virtual machine and its host server

Modernization of Configuration Subsystem

Enhanced look-and-feel and ease of use
Greater control over and visibility into the configuration process

Windows Vista support
Inventory of devices running the Windows Vista Operating System ? Identification of the 'Vista readiness' of the hardware configuration of your managed devices

Broader platform coverage for the Software Utilization module
Collection of software utilization data now extended to cover all platforms supported for inventory collection. This includes the Windows, HP/UX, Solaris, AIX, Linux and Mac platforms

Network Configuration Manager 3.6 (NCM036)
HP Network Configuration Manager (NCM) v3.60 Software represents the state-of-the-art in multi-vendor network change and configuration management, including audit, compliance, and security reporting. Network Configuration Manager v3.60 has many changes, including:

a redesigned User Interface to facilitate operator tasks and efficiency, included tabbed work spaces;
support for server operating environments, including Red Hat Enterprise Linux 4; Solaris 10; and Windows Server 2003;
enhancements to auditing, scalability, availability and reliability; and
defect fixes

Product manuals are contained within the software. Network Configuration Manager v3.60 is intended for both new and upgrading customers. Customers with previous versions, may wish to contact their HP Partner or HP Consulting and Integration Services to plan and schedule an engagement for migration. Migration tools are also included in the software and more information is available from your HP representative.

HP OVIS 6.20 (OVIS62)
OpenView Internet Services product provides you with:

  • The ability to actively measure, report and alert on many discrete Internet services as well as complex multi-step transactions
  • HP's powerful Virtual User Generator technology for recording and replaying user actions in a over 60 environments
  • Virtual User Generator script compatibility with HP Performance Center, LoadRunner and Business Availability Center
  • Integration with HP's Network Management Center (previously known as Network Node Manager or NNM), Operations Center (previously known as OpenView Operations or OVO)
  • Numerous bug fixes and scalability enhancements
