Accessing the internet from your HP internet key (not changeable)

To ensure quick access to HP and the Internet, we programmed the Internet Key on your HP desktop PC for direct connections to a special HP web page designed to help busy business people get the most out of their HP products. A few of the useful things you'll find here are: Though you cannot reconfigure the Internet Key, you can access the Internet and set a personally selected start/home page by launching your browser from the desktop.

Accessing the internet from your software (setting your start/home page)

If you have Microsoft Internet Explorer

To Launch the Browser
  1. Use the "Start" Menu or double-click on the desktop shortcut for Internet Explorer
To change your Home page
  1. Go to the Web page you want to make your home page.
  2. On the Internet Explorer Tools menu, click Internet Options.
  3. In the Internet Options box, on the General tab, click the Use Current button.
  4. Click OK.

If you have Netscape Navigator

To Launch the Browser
  1. Use the "Start" Menu or double-click on the desktop shortcut for Netscape Navigator
To change your Home page
  1. Access the Preferences dialog box by clicking the "Edit" menu and choose "Preferences."
  2. Either simply type in the address of the page you would like as your home page or the "Use Current Page" button will set your home page to whatever page is currently showing in your browser.
  3. To use a blank page when Navigator starts, click the "Blank page" option.
