Significantly enhance your security and convenience. Credential Manager for HP ProtectTools is the glue that brings the different security technologies together, helping you:
Log in once and you are done. Eliminate the need to remember multiple passwords by using the single sign-on, a password vault that stores login information for websites, applications and protected network resources. Use with the HP Fingerprint Sensor—a single swipe will log you into everything!
You call the shots. Customize how your security technologies will work together to provide the right level of security for you.

Not sure what's most secure? We'll guide you NEW!

No more reading multiple reference manuals or spending endless hours using several applications to provide your notebook with proper security. Now you can easily set up security solutions on your notebook in one, convenient place with the Set-up Wizard for HP ProtectTools.

 Make ProtectTools work for you

s b p w whats the difference
Easily access and configure your integrated HP ProtectTools modules from a single location with HP ProtectTools Security Manager. Its modular design means you only deploy the features you need and modify it over time as your needs change. This reduces costs associated with software management and training while simplifying security policies.

Verify identities from instant messages  NEW!

1.  An easy swipe of their fingerprint verifies your contact's identity.
2.  This establishes an encrypted session for instant message and chats.
3.  Now, you can help keep your conversations private and transfer files via instant message more securely.1

Prove that email is really from you NEW!

b p w whats the difference
Help prevent fraudulent email by ensuring that emails you send are genuinely from you. With Privacy Manager for ProtectTools - Sign, you can digitally sign your email by authenticating it with a swipe of your finger.

 Delete old files—for good NEW!

s b p w whats the difference
Deleted files aren't really wiped clean from your hard drive. Anyone with basic knowledge of data recovery can "undelete" it. Help ensure your data is properly erased when you're ready to redeploy or dispose of your notebook.
HP Disk Sanitizer (shredder) permanently destroys data on your hard drive using a published U.S. Department of Defense Algorithm (Based on DOD 5220.22-M Chapter 8) so that it cannot be accessed even with advanced data recovery tools.
File Sanitizer (shredder) for HP ProtectTools uses the same technology to permanently delete individual folders or files on command or automatically
Both features are built-in and OS independent. They also eliminate the need to purchase third-party software to erase hard drives prior to recycling, reassigning, returning or otherwise disposing of your notebook, helping you save time and money.

 Manage security before you boot

s b p w whats the difference
Access the BIOS security and configuration settings from within the HP ProtectTools Security Manager application to take advantage of pre-boot authentication features like Smart Card, power-on password and the TPM embedded security chip.

Encrypt your hard drive in case it's lost

s b p w whats the difference
What if your notebook is lost or stolen? Help ensure your sensitive information cannot be accessed. Drive Encryption for HP ProtectTools encodes every bit of information on a hard drive volume so that it becomes unreadable to an unauthorized person and helps you comply with privacy and data protection regulations.

Decide what plugs in and what stays out

b p w whats the difference
Create policies and specify which types of devices are allowed to be connected to your notebook. Device Access Manager for HP ProtectTools controls ports and removable storage devices on your system. For instance, you may want to allow users to connect keyboards and mice but not USB storage devices, based on their administrative rights.
This module can help:
Keep unauthorized users from transferring or removing your data.
Block USB drives that can cause the spread of viruses and malware.

  Enhanced encryption—it's built in

b p w whats the difference
Configure and establish ownership of your TPM Embedded Security Chip with Embedded Security for HP ProtectTools.
Control the functions of TPM, which provides enhanced hardware protection for data and credentials, and also features Secure Email and Personal Secure Drive.

Get a jump start for your Java Card

b p w whats the difference
Set up and configure an HP ProtectTools Java Card to provide enhanced protection against unauthorized access to your hard drive. You can set up pre-boot identification which allows your Java Cards to be initialized, backed up and maintained.
