Save data and applications

 Delete your files—for good

s b p w whats the difference
Did you know deleted files aren't really wiped clean from your hard drive? Anyone with basic knowledge of data recovery can "undelete" it. Help ensure your data is properly erased when you're ready to redeploy or dispose of your notebook.
HP Disk Sanitizer (shredder) permanently destroys data on your hard drive using a published U.S. Department of Defense Algorithm (Based on DOD 5220.22-M Chapter 8) so that it cannot be accessed even with advanced data recovery tools.
NEW! File Sanitizer (shredder) for HP ProtectTools uses the same technology to permanently delete individual folders or files on command or automatically.
»  See HP Disk Sanitizer in action!
Both features are built-in. They also eliminate the need to purchase third-party software to erase hard drives prior to recycling, reassigning, returning or otherwise disposing of your notebook, helping you save time and money.

Encrypt data for your eyes only

b p w whats the difference
Enhance data, credential and email protection via TPM encryption. Most HP Business Notebooks include a TPM embedded security chip with supporting technology that helps secure sensitive information if your notebook is lost or stolen:
TPM Enhanced DriveLock uses the TPM to generate an extremely strong password that locks your hard drive.
Drive Encryption for HP ProtectTools encodes every bit of information on a hard drive volume so that it becomes unreadable to an unauthorized person and helps you comply with privacy and data protection regulations.

Back up in real time with RAID NEW!

p w whats the difference
Back up in real time with RAID
Formerly reserved for only HP desktops, dual HDD support for RAID 1 and RAID 0 data protection technology is now featured on some HP Business Notebooks.1
RAID 1 Mirroring uses two hard drives to mirror all saved data in real time, helping provide data reliability in the case of a single disk failure. If one drive fails, all data is still available on the other, and your notebook will remain fully operational and productive. It also provides fast read performance since data is available from either drive.
RAID 0 Striping maximizes the storage performance of your notebook. Striping uses the read/write capabilities of two or more hard drives working in unison for optimum performance. You can load, save, create and manipulate large files faster.

 Shock protect your valuable data

s b p w whats the difference
Accidents happen. HP 3D DriveGuard helps protects your notebook's hard drive against impact, bumps or drops so your critical information is preserved while you are on the move. Shock protect your valuable data
Offering incredible hard drive protection, HP 3D DriveGuard uses a three-axis digital accelerometer that acts as a motion sensor, notifying the system software of any sudden movement so it will temporarily park the hard drive. Automated smart protection changes the level of sensitivity based on the usage situation.
This extra protection helps to reduce the risk of losing your valuable data and leads to fewer repairs or data recovery efforts.

Save your notebook

Lock it up, keep it safer  optional accessory

Physically lock your notebook up for added assurance against theft. A Kensington security lock attached using HP's simple 'one key turn' helps secure your notebook, docking station and select accessories. Learn more Lock it up, keep it safer

Block data from prying eyes  optional accessory

When you take your notebook along to all the places you work, make sure you limit "prying eyes" from possible onlookers at the airport, on the plane, at the coffee shop or even in the office. The HP Privacy Filter narrows the viewing angle of your notebook display so that people on either side see a dark, blank screen. Unlike other privacy filters available, this one is customized from HP so it fits perfectly and removes easily. Block data from prying eyes
