Keep it durable:

Reduce wear & tear with HP DuraCase NEW!

pwwhats the diff
Inspired by aircraft construction for its durability, precision and light weight, HP DuraCase helps protect your notebook from wear and tear:
•  A full magnesium alloy chassis creates an incredibly strong case to protect the top and bottom of the notebook against rigorous usage. Magnesium alloy is 18 times stiffer than plastic. HP DuraCase
•  A magnesium/aluminum display enclosure creates a stiffer more durable display panel that is still lightweight.
•  When you close the lid, reinforced latching with 4-point lock down1 creates better protection of your system against shock and side impacts.
•  Metal alloy hinges with hardened steel pin axels are designed to withstand extensive use.

Help protect data:

Back up in real time NEW!

Back up in real time
Formerly reserved for only HP desktops, dual HDD support for RAID 1 and RAID 0 data protection technology is now featured on select HP Business Notebooks.
RAID 1 Mirroring uses two hard drives to mirror all saved data in real time, helping provide data reliability in the case of a single disk failure. If one drive fails, all data is still available on the other, and your notebook will remain fully operational and productive. It also provides fast read performance since data is available from either drive.3
RAID 0 Striping maximizes the storage performance of your notebook. Striping uses the read/write capabilities of two or more hard drives working in unison for optimum performance. You can load, save, create and manipulate large files faster.

 Shock protect your valuable data

Accidents happen. HP 3D Drive Guard helps protects your notebook's hard drive against impact, bumps or drops. Your critical information is easily protected while you are on the move because the HP 3D Drive Guard relies on a three-axis digital accelerometer that acts as a motion sensor which notifies the system software of any sudden movement and sends a command to temporarily park the hard drive. Help prevent wear & tear:

 Protect your display panel

sbpwwhats the diff
Protect your display panel from scuffs and scratches with this system of small, soft rubber pads that surround the panel. These pads prevent accidental contact with the keyboard or keyboard deck when the display is closed.

Prone to spills? Now it's okay!

 Open & shut—again and again

Add durability to withstand the repetitive opening & closing of your notebook. Strong metal alloy hinges with hardened steel pin axles are designed to withstand extensive use. Mechanical tests simulate opening and closing the notebook 10 times every day for 6 years!
