Some functionality of this technology, such as Intel Active management technology and Intel Virtualization technology, requires additional 3rd party software in order to run. Availability of future "virtual appliances" applications for Intel vPro technology is dependent on 3rd party software providers. Compatibility of this generation of Intel vPro technology-based hardware with future "virtual appliances" and Microsoft Windows Vista and Windows 7 operating systems is yet to be determined.

This technology is currently available on the HP 8000 Elite, HP 8100 Elite, and HP 8000f Elite models.

DASH 1.1 is available on the HP 8000 Elite, HP 8100 Elite, HP 8000f Elite, and HP Compaq 6005 Pro models that include the optional Broadcom NetXtreme Gigabit Ethernet Plus NIC.
