3G – Understand what you get |
 |
 |
| 3G is the third generation of mobile phone standards and technology, superseding 2G, and preceding 4G. Unlike IEEE 802.11 (common names Wi-Fi or WLAN) networks, 3G networks are wide area cellular telephone networks which evolved to incorporate high-speed internet access and video telephony. With 3G you get enhanced multimedia (voice, data, video, and remote control), usability on all popular mode (cellular telephone, email, paging, fax, videoconferencing, and Web browsing), broad bandwidth and high speed (upwards of 2 Mbps), and roaming capability throughout Europe, Japan, and North America. 3G is the wave of the future and if you're not on it, you don't know what you're missing!
