Ordinary papers produce ordinary–looking documents. HP paper with ColorLok® Technology produces documents that look extraordinary. Find out how this paper technology works and discover the benefits of using HP papers with ColorLok®. Plus, learn how to identify HP papers with ColorLok® when you're shopping for paper for your business.

What is ColorLok® Technology?

With ColorLok® Technology, you get better papers for better printing.
ColorLok® is an additive used during the paper making process that causes ink to adhere more completely to the surface of the paper, resulting in crisper lines and letters for your business printing. Ordinary papers allow ink to dilute and absorb into the paper fibers, often resulting in fuzzy print.
Results from an independent, third–party study conducted by Buyers Laboratory Inc. (BLI), commissioned by HP, revealed that ColorLok® quality standard papers can help maximize the life of laser printers, compared to tested papers that don't meet the ColorLok® quality standard.1

Benefits of ColorLok®

HP papers with ColorLok® Technology provide brighter colors, fewer smears, and bolder blacks.
When you print business documents and materials using HP Inkjet Papers with ColorLok® Technology, you get:
•  Brighter colors: Colors are brighter compared to ordinary papers, so your marketing materials pop!
•  Fewer smears: Pages dry faster so there's less risk of smearing important business documents.
•  Bolder blacks: Black inks print bolder so text is super crisp and sharp.
Plus, using ColorLok® paper in your office laser printer can reduce printer wear. Papers that meet ColorLok® performance standards control particle filler size, friction and edge cut quality, and a tight range of electrical paper properties, supporting longer life in laser printers.1

1.  Based on testing by Buyer's Lab Inc. More information is available at www.buyerslab.com. Tested papers that did not meet the ColorLok quality standard were manufactured in Asia and are primarily sold in China and India today and contained high percentages of abrasive, large-particle fillers (ground calcium carbonate, talc). ColorLok papers are validated for smoothness and low percentages of abrasive, large-particle fillers.
