We use this multifunction printer in our office of fairly heavy copying, faxing, printing. It's been completely reliable - fast - easy to use and the toner usage hasn't been too expensive. Overall a great office machine.

Bought it for myself (along with the 2,000 paper tray). It is built like a tank. The trays do not feel like a $100 printer (not that I expected it to be.) I maxed out the memory to 512 MB and is connected to my Windows XP machine via USB (added the EIO card for that, too). Also have the 20 G hard drive in place. The whole thing was not difficult to set up (had a few friends help me get it out of the boxes.) Am using it with Corel Ventura Publisher 10 (in Postscript mode). Everything looks great. I print a lot of complex forms and newsletters (with plenty of graphic / photos). It truly is not cheap to buy--but it costs a little to use. Toner lasts a very long time--really about a cent a page to use. Am thinking about getting the multifunction finisher. Not really "need" it. Overall it's an overkill for me, but I use it a lot and am not afraid that it's going to blow up on me. It needs its own "space". It truly is a big printer. Thank goodness the 2,000 paper tray has wheels. Think of it as a big copier. Without the big tray, you had better have a good (and strong) table for it to sit on. Thank you HP for making a great printer.

i have gone from a bjc 5500 to this very awesome machine. i did have some install issues due to my own personal time pressures resulting in having to install it myself, but after the very helpful staff at hp i had it running, basically rebooting sorts it, including the rear panel if you are not using a roll, but a tray front load like me. i really like it and reccommend bigtime! Colour is awesome, photo's and drawings with colour that i never anticipated using but the quality is so good i am now going the colour way. my bjc 5500 only printed black by my choice - this hp is awesome.

The DesignJet 130nr is an all around awesome printer. I love how it has the tray for sheets of paper, and a roll, and a rear manual feed, and a front manual feed. That alone makes it so versatile because i can use it to print out google maps, and then use it to print a high quality poster. The inks are reasonably priced and so are the heads. This is really a great printer for the money. It is so easy to use and prints amazing. I recommend using this printer through acrobat or Photoshop. Avoid printing in InDesign on a Mac. If you're printing on a PC you can print from any program.. just make sure that you select the correct color profile in the application you're printing in.. and in the print dialog box choose "application managed colors" HP Papers DO print best on these. My favorite is the HP Proofing paper :)

For $2000 retail (can be had for around $1500-1700 if you shop around) it is the best bang for your buck out there when it comes to a monochrome MFC. Our office doesn't need to make color prints, priced out all sorts of monochrome MFC and this HP far exceeded the competition. It is a great midsize unit, with fast printing/copying performance, and I love not waiting a forever for the first print to come out unlike other laserjets I have used which take up to 60 seconds to warm up before it even begins processing the print job. The only bad thing I could say about this unit is that it is not so fast turning on if you ever have to turn the unit off especially the first time you boot it up, take it from me leave it on and just let it go to sleep

1/ Just bought the printer yesterday. Setup with my Win 7 and Mac went through without any hassle, whether print via WiFi, ePrint, or AirPrint. 2/ Print quality, especially the color part, very good and beyond my expectation. (Am I outdated?) 3/ However, fine-tuning of printer cannot be readily done. This is due to the very slim documentation supplied! Am still struggling on how to print double-sided pages. 4/ One complain: comparatively speaking, toner consumption is much higher than other model and competitors - only 1,200 pages/cartridge.

I work in CAD and GIS for 20 years. This is the best plotter I ever had. OK, paper catcher is not good at all, but I don't choose my plotter for that. Interface is easy to use. We have dozens of people who use it with success. And their are not all CAD or GIS specialists. Scanning and plotting performance are really good. With the 2 roll feeds you can load two different papers. For us (City Government) it was the perfect choice.

This printer was damaged in shipment. After notifying HP I was pleasantly surprised to have a service person at our office the next day with the correct parts. Once the problem was corrected, it has never looked back. We print a wide variety of documents. When using the HP Laser Photo paper the photo quality is the best I have seen from a laser printer. Excellent speed and quality.

I bought this printer early last year, Being someone with no graphic design experience and really not too network savvy. After a bit of a struggle I discovered that this was one of the best purchases Ive made for my small business. I can design and print promotional posters, pictures, signs etc. I am now to a point where photoshop is not nearly as challenging and I am truly surprised with the quality and speed of this printer. I hope you have the same experience. I highly recommend this printer!

Fine art heavy paper could be a problem above 280gm, but I have done canvas from Canson and BC paper. It is a printer that you can depend upon. Foto 1

We have been using this printer for a few weeks now, as it was a replacement for our Designjet 800 42". The good: -colors are bold and sharp where need be, grays are fantastic. -setting up profiles actually works! -network print software tracks print cost and ink levels -prints will continue if you need to change an ink cartridge -Ink is cost effective when purchased in 2 packs the bad: -Makes Win 7 64bit machines crash if installed straight on, need to be used as a shared printer from an XP station -no print cue! (Have to buy the PS version for a simple function) -AutoCAD 2009 prints fine... from XP or Win7 XP Mode -getting samples of different medias is a task best left to fairy tales (at least samples that you can test print to see how YOUR work looks) - printer comes with 1/2 size ink carts -Did I mention no win 7 support and no cue?

This printer has been a workhorse in my department, easily handling the print volume of the fifteen attorneys and secretaries assigned to it. Highly recommended for straight forward printing environments. My one major complaint is that tray 1 (bypass) is set as the priority tray and it cannot be changed. This causes my staff all kinds of problems when they load tray 1 with non-standard media (labels/bond paper, etc) and someone else prints at the same time. Unfortunately, it doesn't sound like tray 1 can be set as the tray of last resort. This has caused a number of headaches. Recommended with reservations.

This unit is heavy and will require 2 people to move. The toner trays are small, but they are conveniently located in a pull out tray. The LCD screen is large enough, but is generally of little use once the unit is configured. The only option from the LCD panel for scanning, is to send to a USB key. I found this extremely disappointing because it seems to me it would have fare more useful as a network device, to be able to scan to a network share! I do like the wireless feature as I can now roll this printer around and plug it in anywhere there is an electrical outlet. I'd prefer to not do that, but in order to scan to a computer, you must be at the computer. That means, load the documents into the scanner, and then pull them through using ReadIris that comes with the device. The printer is good, the copy feature is good, faxing is simple enough, but the scanner ability is completely inefficient.

I'm pleased with the print quality and value, but find the paper tray design ridiculous. In order to load 8.5 x 14 (legal) paper in drawer 1 or 2, the drawer sticks out of the front of the printer (exposing the paper) by 3 inches. We have had HP printers for 20 years and have never had this sort of set up. The adjustment allowed the paper to go further back in the printer. There should be some note of this in the specs for this printer -- or a "fix" provided for this issue.

Greatest printer EVER!!!! I bought it for college use, and this printer is awesome, I love being able to print from my phone and my iPad while I am away at school. The furthest distance I've tried printing was about 30 miles away from home and it worked perfect. I love the app section of the printer, it allows me to print coupons, nick jr pages, this printer is all around great. The best thing is that it is simple set up, this printer is a great price and a great investment. The Eco friendly setting is super cool, it goes into standby mode when you aren't using the printer, and wakes up immediately when you are ready to connect. Great printer at. Very low price. The only issue I have is trying to figure out how to do 2 sided printing, but because this printer is update-capable then HP will hopefully send that update over, because the advertisment says its possible.

After having our first experience that proved it is possible, after all, to go wrong buying a Hewlett Packard product; along came this printer to restore my wife's and my faith in this brand.  Just about the time our Deskjet D2660 died, after only a few months of use (during which time it fell far short of our expectations for it or any other HP product (See my review of it at —much less favorable than the review I am giving this printer.)), a certain office supply chain was having a fantastic sale on this printer, the Officejet Pro 8000 Wireless. It seemed obvious from the beginning that this was going to be a much better printer than we thought we were otherwise going to be able to afford.  We have had this printer, now, for nearly a month, and I have to say that it has more than met our expectations, and has truly lived up to the reputation that I have long associated with the HP brand.  Print quality is impeccable, and the ink, once dried, is very solidly colorfast.  The included duplexer is a very nice feature, allowing two-sided printing.  The included driver software—both for Windows and Macintosh platforms—is top quality, and free of all the unwanted popups that the D2660's drivers kept shoving at us.  The printer even supplies administration and management functions by way of a built-in web-host interface, in a manner that to me seems far superior to the methods most printers use which depend on running certain printer-specific utilities on your computer. (Such utilities are, of course, provided in case you prefer to do it that way, as I am sure many will.)  This printer is claimed to have a lower cost-per-page than most laser printers—a very bold claim to make about an inkjet printer. I can say that indications seem to be that this will indeed prove to be an economical printer to use, very much unlike its immediate predecessor, the Deskjet D2660, which went through two or three sets of ink cartridges in the short time we had it. After nearly a month of use—more than three hundred pages—the ink cartridges that came with this printer appear to still be about 80% full.  This is intially a rather pricey printer, especially for home use, but it is well worth it. I think that in the short time we owned the D2660, we probably spent about as much on ink cartridges for it as we spent for this printer to replace the D2660 after it broke; and I have no doubt that in fairly short order, this printer will easily save us considerably more in ink costs than the difference in cost between this printer itself and any cheaper printer that we might otherwise have bought.  In the long run, it definitely doesn't pay to buy a cheap printer.

When you copy or print a page that is saturated in color the fuser has a tendacy to jam. I now use 24lb paper and that has ended. I have had my 7000 for about 1 year, works very well, I use 13x19 Super B paper purchased a box on line for about $100, 2000 sheets, it uses a reasonable amount of ink all depending on what I am printing and the settings, which are many, I am happy enough I am thinking about purchasing a back up in case this one fails after 3-4 years of good use, I have a 6500 also that uses 920 ink so I only have to have one type of ink (920XL) on hand. The 7000 works well enough I only use HP ink and dare not to try any aftermarket ink. Just my thoughts, reasonable purchase price both printer and ink. Have a nice day, peace to all...

I like this printer. It's the best value for money for a medium amount of normal printing. If you print very little, say 10 pages a month, then you are better off with a cheap inkjet. If you print a LOT, many thousand pages a month, then you're better off with a mid range laser printer. For anything in between, this printer is perfect. It's cheap to buy and the ink is very economical. It prints fast, reliably, and also does great color photo prints. I've had it for several months now and have had no problems. It also comes with introductory cartridges that give you several hundred pages of prints.

Love ability to print on both sides and save paper and this is reasonably fast for home use. Wireless setup and connection is easy and generally stable, if there is trouble it is usually the desktop side. Large ink cartridges last a reasonable amount of time and that is good because they are pricey. I just picked up a 4 cartridge set at $100. Nothing really flashy about this machine: ie it is only a printer, it doesn't have fancy on-board display etc. but it does what it needs to for us, print. We also have a Officejet 5610 all in one that can scan/copy/fax but that is wired to my desktop machine.
