How HP makes printing worry-free

HP printers are designed to require less maintenance and provide a better end-user experience.
Design Feature HP Samsung Customer Benefit
Output quality HP toner is fully fixed so it adheres completely to the page. During HP internal testing, output from the Samsung 1710 rubbed off and smudged. Superior output quality and reduced smudging.
Two-sided printing It's easy to duplex with the HP LaserJet 1012 and it's automatic duplexing unit. Results during HP internal testing indicate that two-sided printing can be difficult on the Samsung ML-1710 and its driver does not offer users any help accomplishing this task. Straightforward two-sided printing.
Macintosh support With HP LaserJet printers, Macintosh users enjoy the same feature set as Windows users. Some Samsung printers, like the ML-1710, offers less support for Macintosh users. Full feature set for Macs.

Innovative HP design minimizes paper jams

The Samsung ML-1710's complex S-shaped paper path appears to be more prone to paper jams than the HP LaserJet 1012's simple C-shaped paper path, as shown below. In HP internal testing, the Samsung unit experienced 32 times more paper jams than the HP LaserJet did.
