Control panel
The advanced four-line displays on HP workgroup printers like the HP LaserJet 4250 offer animation and context-sensitive help.
Lexmark offers two-line text display with no context-sensitive help on the T634.
More intuitive, advanced control panel designs make printers easier to use.
Toner cartridges & drums
HP integrated toner cartridges include the complete imaging systems: toner, imaging drum and charge roller.
Lexmark E232 and E330 printers utilize separate toner cartridges and drums, while the Lexmark T340, T630, T632 and T634 toner cartridges don't include the primary charge roller, which is mounted on the engine and must be replaced separately.
Integrated toner cartridges and drums reduce complexity, make replacement easier and ensure greater consistency in the printing process for better print quality.
Paper trays
HP LaserJet 4250 paper trays are designed to be easy to load and adjust for different media.
Lexmark T630, T632 and T634 trays may be difficult to adjust.
Users can more easily print on a variety of media when they can easily load and adjust paper trays.
Fuser replacement
HP LaserJet 4250 and 4350 fusers are designed for easy customer replacement.
Replacing a fuser for the Lexmark T630, T632, or T634 printer is more complex, includes working around screws and wires and may require some assistance.
When you can perform standard printer maintenance yourself, you can contain costs and make printers more quickly available to users.
Simplify color printing
HP color printers are designed to improve user productivity with fewer, easier-to-access paper paths, smart designs that reduce maintenance, and innovative control panels. Following are some examples of how select HP color printers compare to select Lexmark color printer models in internal HP testing for simplicity of use.

Access points
The HP Color LaserJet 3700 and HP Color LaserJet 4650 only have one paper path access point. It takes 12.9 pounds of force to open the HP Color LaserJet 5550 to clear a paper path.
The Lexmark C750 and C762 have six paper path access points. It takes 19.3 pounds of force (50 percent more than the comparable HP model) to open the top third of the Lexmark C912 to clear a paper path, and Lexmark C510 users must clear all paper jams from the back of the printer.
Fewer access points make it easier to clear jams.
Fusing process
HP's chemically-grown toner eliminates the need for oil in the fusing process.
The C912 uses oil in the fusing process and its LED lenses must be cleaned periodically to prevent print-quality degradation.
When you remove oil from the fusing process, you eliminate the risk of contaminating the engine with oil as media passes through the device during transparency and duplex printing.
Toner-waste kits
On HP Color LaserJet 2xx0, 3xx0, 4xx0 and 5xx0 models, toner waste is collected in a single cartridge.
Lexmark C510, C760 and C762 printers have separate toner-waste kits.
Separate toner waste requires managing an additional consumable and can be messy.
Control panel
The advanced four-line displays on HP workgroup printers like the HP Color LaserJet 4650 offer animation and context-sensitive help.
Lexmark offers two-line text display with no context-sensitive help on the C762.
More intuitive, advanced control panel designs make printers easier to use.
