Software summary

This compressed, Zip-format file contains software version F.05.61 for the ProCurve Series 2300 and 2500 Switches. This file contains the software itself (F.05.61.swi) and Release Notes (2500-2300-RelNotes--F0561-59903102.pdf).

This software release is described in detail in the document: Release Notes: Version F.05.61 Software for the ProCurve Series 2300 and 2500 Switches (pdf: 2.10 MB). The Release Notes contain information regarding new features added and bug fixes in previous versions of this 2500/2300 software. Use this Release Notes as an addendum to the ProCurve Series 2500 Switches Management and Configuration Guide (October 2005).

NOTE: The startup-config file saved under version F.05.17 is NOT backward-compatible with previous software versions. The user is advised to save a copy of the pre-05.17 startup-config file BEFORE UPGRADING to F.05.17 or greater, in case there is ever a need to revert back to pre-05.17 software. Instructions for saving a copy of the startup-config file are found in the “Transferring Switch Configurations” section of Appendix A in the Management and Configuration Guide that shipped with the switch.
