ProCurve Switch 4200vl Series Background:
ProCurve Networking by HP launched the ProCurve Switch 4200vl Series chassis in February 2006 to provide a high–quality, cost–effective and flexible alternative to stackable switches at the edge of the network. The 4200vl series features an innovative form factor and provides comparable density to stackables, but with no stacking cables required. The 10/100 and Gigabit ports can be optimized for flexible options making it ideal for companies that desire the flexibility and performance of a chassis at the price of a stackable.
New Chassis Added:
The ProCurve Switch 1400 Series
The ProCurve Switch 4200vl Series has two new chassis bundles available for the Gigabit market:
- The ProCurve Switch 4204vl–48GS 3U Chassis offers 44 10/100/1000 ports plus four SFP ports with two slots for uplink modules and additional 10/100, 10/100/1000, 100FX, or Mini–GBIC ports.
- The ProCurve Switch 4208vl–72GS 5U Chassis offers 68 10/100/1000 ports plus 4 SFP ports with five slots for uplink modules and additional 10/100, 10/100/1000, 100FX, or Mini–GBIC ports.
New Modules Added:
