Configuration > Port Configuration
Select multiple ports by holding down CTRL while clicking the desired ports. If you select multiple ports of different types, you will be able to modify only the settings common to them all.
Click Modify Selected Ports.
To enable the port, select Yes in the Port Enabled field
OR
To disable the port, select No in the Port Enabled field.
Select the port's configuration mode:
Available modes depend on the switch series.
|
10 HDx |
10Mbps half-duplex operation |
|
100 HDx |
100Mbps half-duplex operation |
|
10 FDx |
10Mbps full-duplex operation |
|
100 FDx |
100Mbps full-duplex operation |
|
Auto |
Port automatically selects the network speed (100Mbps or 10Mbps) and the data transfer operation (full- or half-duplex) between itself and the device to which it is connected. For Auto to successfully negotiate a connection, both devices must be running the Auto Negotiation protocol. |
|
Auto-10 |
Port negotiates between half-duplex and full-duplex while keeping the speed at 10 Mbps and negotiates flow control if enabled. HP recommends Auto-10 for links between 10/100 auto-sensing ports connected with Cat 3 cabling. (Cat 5 cabling is required for 100 Mbps links.) |
|
Auto-100 |
Port operates at 100 Mbps and negotiates with the port at the other end for other port operation features. |
|
Auto-1000 |
Port operates at 1000 Mbps and negotiates with the port at the other end for other port operation features. |
To enable Flow Control, select Enable in the Flow Control field.
OR
To disable Flow Control, select Disable in the Flow Control field.
Flow Control maximizes circuit efficiency by enabling negotiation of packet parameters with the device to which the port is connected. When disabled (the default), the port does not generate flow control packets and drops any flow control packets it receives.
On Series 5300xl Switches, you must first enable flow-control globally on the switch, and then enable it on the desired ports. The reverse is true for disabling flow control on all 5300xl ports. Disable per-port flow control, and then disable global flow control. To disable flow control on some ports, while leaving it enabled on other ports, disable it only on the individual ports you want to exclude.
