Non-genuine Mini-GBICs, Transceivers, and Modules
If the identified device appears to be an authentic HP ProCurve product, with valid product and serial numbers, it may be a counterfeit. Please click here for further information.

Unsupported Mini-GBICs, Transceivers, and Modules
If the identified device is not an HP ProCurve product, it is not supported by HP ProCurve Networking. HP ProCurve Networking designs, tests, and supports its switch products using only genuine HP ProCurve mini-GBICs, transceivers, and modules. The use of third-party mini-GBICs, transceivers, or modules may result in reduced network performance and reliability.

Genuine ProCurve products are available from authorized HP resellers. The following HP ProCurve mini-GBICS and transceivers are supported in HP ProCurve switches:

The following HP ProCurve modules are supported in HP ProCurve 2910al switches:

  • HP ProCurve 2-Port 10-GbE CX4 al Module (J9149A)
  • HP ProCurve 10-GbE al Interconnect Kit (J9165A)

The use of third-party mini-GBICs, transceivers, or modules does not affect the HP ProCurve switch's warranty. However, HP ProCurve Networking does not provide support for networking problems resulting from the use of third-party transceivers, mini-GBICs, or modules, nor does it provide free replacements for unsupported or non-genuine transceivers, mini-GBICs, or modules.
