Members of the EDS Retiree Advisory Council serve as voluntary liaisons between the company and the nationwide retiree community. Responsibilities of board members include facilitating communication between EDS and its retiree clubs as well as assisting in the planning of retiree functions. Board memberships are for one year. If you'd like to become a future advisor, let us know.

Current Advisory Board Members

John Brunet

A 31-year EDS veteran, John retired in 2001 as vice president and chief operating officer of Information Systems Line of Business. He lives with wife Sharron Saunders in Bloomfield Hills, Mich. Together, they have 10 grandchildren. Grandson Kyle, 16, played on the Michigan State High School Division II state champion football team this year. An avid golfer, John is a member of the Red Run Golf Club. His woodworking skills are in high demand among family members, who keep his order book full. John enjoys a friendly game of "high-stakes" gin rummy.

Todd Carlson

Former EDS chief information officer, Todd retired in 1998 after about 30 years of service. With wife Sheryl, he has two children and three grandchildren. The couple, who live in Richardson, Texas, will celebrate their 40th wedding anniversary this June. Todd enjoys genealogy, woodworking and travel.

Marshall Edelman

Marshall Edelman retired in 1999 after 24 years with EDS, but has stayed connected to EDS in number of ways. He's part of the Grey Eagles retiree group and organizes their monthly breakfasts in Plano. He's a standard fixture at the EDS annual shareholders meeting at headquarters and belongs to an all-EDS retiree poker club. He's married to another EDS retiree, Betty Regensburg Edelman. Betty now is a senior lecturer in statistics at the University of Texas at Dallas. Marshall and Betty spend time with her siblings and mother in New Jersey and his siblings and parents in Seattle, Wash. and Palm Springs, Calif. Marshall plays golf and is also a golf marshal at the Trails of Frisco.

Bill Gaylord

One of two EDSers rescued in 1979 from unlawful detention at an Iranian prison by colleagues under leadership of a former Green Beret, Bill was an executive in EDS Italia before his retirement early in 1999. He then worked as an EDS consultant until the end of that year. Residing in Horseshoe Bay, Texas with wife Emily, he takes life just a bit easier following his eventful 34-year EDS career. The couple are enjoying visits with their four children and seven grandchildren. There’s another family addition: 3-year-old Max, an American tricolor cocker spaniel. Besides family activities, Bill is an avid golfer and travels.

Jim Meler

Jim retired in 1996 as EDS divisional vice president in Rochester, N.Y., with the Xerox Corp. account, responsible for the client’s corporate headquarters. A week after retirement, he and his wife were in route to Paris, France for a well-deserved vacation. Jim and wife Virginia, who also retired from EDS as a document specialist, settled at Las Colinas in Irving, Texas. Retirement is enjoyable and very busy with travel, three granddaughters, church and city activities plus some consulting work. The Melers operate Multiple Learning and Coaching Systems, consultants on personal and business development. The couple will celebrate their 50th anniversary on June 2. Their son, Dr. James D. Meler II, is a vascular surgeon at Baylor University Medical Center in Dallas. Their daughter, Kelley Haley, is a medical assistant at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center’s Otolaryngology Department.

Floyd Trim

Ambergris Caye, Belize is a favorite family vacation destination. Last June, Floyd and wife Ruth were there with their four children and four grandchildren to celebrate the couple’s 50th anniversary. Floyd retired in 1994 as vice president for the Health Care Strategic Business Unit after a 26-year EDS career. Another popular family destination for the Trims is their retreat along Cedar Creek Lake, east of their Dallas home. Boating, fishing and swimming fill the weekends there. The couple attended their 50th college reunion at Texas A&M University last April.

Charlie Zinger

Retirement is quality time for Charlie. Spending time with children and grandchildren, traveling and hobbies are part of a busy schedule. Wife Joanne and one of two sons, Michael, are both former EDSers. Joanne of Southlake, Texas, retired in 1999 as managing director of business services, EMEA technical infrastructure, following a 22-year EDS career. He loves to travel with his wife and visit their sons, a daughter and two grandchildren. Joanne is a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Women’s Auxiliary.
