General information

All HP tape drives are tested on a wide range of HP and non-HP servers and workstations, but it is impossible to physically test every combination. Because the critical component in the connectivity process is the SCSI interface, it is safe to assume that if HP has tested a specific SCSI chipset and that chipset is used on other non-HP servers and workstations then there is a high confidence that the HP tape drives will work on the non-HP server which uses a tested SCSI chipset.

By cross checking the SCSI chipset on your server or workstation against those listed below you can accurately determine for yourself if the combination of HP tape drive and non-HP server/workstation will work.

Important notes

  1. HP does not support One Button Disaster Recovery on non-HP systems.
  2. For all internal drives listed below, the HP certified mounting method, as described in the product QuickSpec, must be used.
  3. To determine the SCSI chipset used in your server or workstation simply view the BIOS screen or start-up message as your system boots up.
