Compatible Controllers, Host Bus Adapters and Switches:

The HP ProLiant ML150 G3 does not have a suitable integrated SAS controller for connecting the HP StorageWorks DAT 160 SAS . Please use one of the following compatible HBA options:

PCI Express Host Bus Adapter options:

  • 416096-B21 - HP SC44Ge Int/Ext PCIe SAS HBA (Internal/External) 1
  • 449176-B21 - HP SC40Ge Int SAS PCIe HBA (Internal only)

PCI-X Host Bus Adapter options:
  • 347786-B21 - HP 8 Internal SAS Port PCI-X HBA with RAID 2

External SAS cable options:
  • AE466A - HP 2m InfiniB-Min External Tape SAS Cable (for 416096-B21)
  • AE468A - HP 4m InfiniB-Min Rack-Mount Kit SAS Cable (for 416096-B21)
  • AE464A - HP 4m Mini-SAS Int-Ext 3x/1x Rack-Mount SAS Split Cable 7

1  This adapter requires 2 PCI server slots to connect the external and rack-mount drive options using the appropriate internal-to-external SAS split cables. An appropriate internal-to-external SAS split cable for the external drive option is provided with the HP StorageWorks DAT 160 SAS External Tape Drive. For Rack-Mount drive options, please purchase the appropriate cable listed above. Alternatively, if this configuration is not preferred you may directly connect your external and rack-mount drive options to the external port(s) by purchasing the appropriate external-to-external SAS cable, listed above.

2  This adapter requires 2 PCI server slots to connect the external and rack-mount drive options using the appropriate internal-to-external SAS split cables. An appropriate internal-to-external SAS split cable for the external drive option is provided with the HP StorageWorks DAT 160 SAS External Tape Drive. For Rack-Mount drive options, please purchase the appropriate cable listed above.

One-Button Disaster Recovery

The HP StorageWorks DAT 160 SAS supports HP One-Button Disaster Recovery (OBDR). HP supports OBDR with HP Data Protector Express, HP Data Protector, Symantec Backup Exec and CA ARCserve. Other ISVs listed as a "suitable application" have been tested by the ISV but are not supported by HP. Please contact those ISVs for any disaster recovery support and OBDR support you may require.
