The HP StorageWorks DLT VS160 tape drive is designed for customers outgrowing the capacity of their current DLT drives. This affordable option is ideal for those who need to move up in capacity but may not need the performance of a superdrive. The VS160 provides double the capacity of the VS80 and DLT 80. The DLT VS160 is a half-height drive that stores 160 GB of data (assuming 2:1 compression) at a speed of 57GB per hour (compressed). The VS160 is backward read-compatible with VS80 media, and VS160 media can be read by SDLT 600 drives.
