reliability for HP servers, through its support of the latest SCSI technology and advanced RAID capabilities. This controller ships standard with RAID 6 (ADG) and supports over 100 hard drives.

The HP Smart Array E500 is the first external connect only, entry level PCIe SAS RAID controller. The full size card has 8 ports and uses DDR2-533 memory. The SA-E500 offers RAID 0, 1, and 0+1 and can be upgraded with the BBWC module for RAID 5. SA-E500 comes with 3 Gb SAS technology, which delivers high performance and data bandwidth up to 300 MB\s per physical link and contains full compatibility with 1.5 Gb SATA technology. It also supports Native Command Queuing (NCQ) and 64 LUN. |
