Both J2793B (X.25) and SNA (J6380AA) can coexist on the same system. The card will support SNA. SNA can coexist with X.25.

Certification requirements

Operation of the X.25 high-performance link product connected to a public X.25 network may require certification.

To obtain the most up-to-date list of X.25 Public Networks on which the X.25 high-performance link product is certified, please contact your HP Sales Representative.

Configuration requirements

The PCI board is supported on HP 9000 V-Class servers and HP 9000 B- and C-Class workstations. The maximum number of PCI boards which can be installed on a system is equal to the number of I/O slots available on this system for B- or C-Class Workstations and twenty (20) for V-Class servers.
  • Supported systems: B- and C-Class on HP 9000 Workstation on HP-UX 10.20 for X.25 and HP-UX 10.30 for Frame-Relay.
  • Supported systems: V-Class on HP 9000 Servers on HP-UX 11.0 for X.25/Frame-Relay.

Installation policy

The PCI board is customer install-able. A factory integrated option 0D1 can be ordered. Before installing the product, the customer should obtain, install, and verify the correct operation of any communication line, X.25 network access, or any other required equipment and facilities. Hewlett-Packard is liable only for the correct execution of the product self-tests.

J3525A: Dual-Port PCI Adapter for HP 9000 Servers: Includes hardware installation manual and cables.

Must order one interface cable option (2 cables per option):

  • #1AT: 2 RS-232C cables (3m)
  • #1AU: 2 V.35 cables (3m)
  • #AFR: 2 X.21/V11 cables (3m)
  • #AFQ: 2 RS-449 cables (3m)
  • #001: 2 RS-530 cables (3m)
Since the hardware is a dual-port card, 2 cables are provided per option. For further orders, more cables are orderable as add-on equipment using their option or part numbers.

Additional cables may be ordered:

  • J3525-60100: RS-232C cable
  • J3525-60101: RS-449 cable
  • J3525-60102: X.21/V.11 cable
  • J3525-60103: V.35 cable
  • J3525-60104: RS-530 cable
Note: The V.35 cable connector complies with the U.S. standard, which does not comply with European standards. A universal adapter is required for complying with European standards.

The card must be used in conjunction with an X.25 link:

  • J2793B: X.25/9000 SW LTU for servers and workstations

  • #0D1: Factory integrated. Warranty-one year onsite.
