 1. MANUAL mode: can be Load Balancing or Non-Load Balancing:

  • Load Balancing: MAC, IP, or CPU algorithm
  • Non-Load Balancing: Hot Standby mode (deprecated).

 2. Load Balancing is configurable on Ethernet links only.

 3. The Primary can be only either one port or one LinkAgg and the Hot Standby can be up to 31 ports. If the Primary is a LinkAgg, then this LinkAgg can consist of ports configured using LACP (max of 32 ports), PAgP (max of 32 ports) or Manual mode (max of 32 ports). The maximum number of ports per link aggregate is limited by the maximum number of ports that a switch can have in a trunk.
