HIPPI-800 switching solutions
HIPPI-800 switching solutions are available from the
Hewlett-Packard preferred HIPPI switching vendor, ODS/Essential Networks. The HP HIPPI-800 adapter has been extensively tested with the ODS/Essential Networks
ESS-2000 32-port HIPPI Switch.
The Essential/ODS Networks ESS-2000 32 port HIPPI-800 switch is a non-blocking, cut-through crossbar switch for Serial and Parallel HIPPI network connectivity. The base chassis supports
hot-swappable port cards, redundant power supplies, and single-side serviceability The Switch Control Card (SCC) has integrated switch management software, utilizing SNMP, which allows for easy
switch configuration, traffic routing, statistics gathering, alternate path routing, hunt group definition, and troubleshooting.

(1) Connectivity to older copper-based HIPPI LAN fabrics can be accomplished via an ODS/Essential Networks' HIPPI Flex Media Converter or HIPPI Switch
