Post-2010 MPE FOS, SLT, SUBSYS
Distribution
Effective January 1, 2011, distribution and
shipment of all HP e3000 MPE FOS, SLT, or media
will cease. Customers who would like to purchase
additional SUBSYS products need to place their
orders by September 30, 2010. Customers with a
current HP Mature Product Support without
Sustaining Engineering (MPS w/o SE) agreement
can still request PowerPatches and SW Media
(FOS, SLT, SUBSYS) during the remainder of the
Limited Support Extension, expiring on December
31, 2010, through their local HP Representative
or Contract Administrator. Media orders should
be placed by December 15, 2010. Processing and
delivery time may vary.
Post 2010 MPE/iX Right-To-Use (RTU)
License Policy
The HP end-of-support date for the HP e3000 is
December 31, 2010. After that date, customers
with a valid MPE/iX RTU license on an HP e3000
system will be able to perform a valid system
upgrade without incurring an additional
licensing cost. After December 31, 2010, no
further RTU lost license replacements will be
available.
SSCONFIG & SS_Update Tools Licensing
including future HP SUSAN update process
The configuration of the hardware personality of
an HP e3000 system is accomplished by the use of
a tool called SSCONFIG or SS_Update. Because of
intellectual property leveraged on other HP
hardware platforms, the decision was reached to
not license SSCONFIG and SS_Update tools to
customers, 3rd party resellers, or support
providers. Customers can contact their local HP
office to request an HP Representative to assist
with HPSUSAN updates or other SSCONFIG or
SS_Update tool needs on a Time and Materials
basis. There is currently no end of support date
scheduled for these tools.
Post 2010 e3000 Support
As always, customers that can not migrate to
other HP supported solutions by the announced
December 31, 2010 End of Support Life date
should feel free to contact their HP
representative to discuss alternatives or
potential local custom support solutions that
might be made available.
