White paper: HP 9000 to Integrity server
Content starts here
When planning their move to HP Integrity from HP 9000, customers are always concerned about cost and risk.  In response, HP has made the move simple, cost effective and low risk by providing generous trade-in policies, software credits, operating system and database compatibility and a complete set of transition tools and services.  As a result, customers have consistently observed little or no downtime, and improved TCO, after moving to HP Integrity systems.

Fact 1: HP delivers no-charge, objective Return on Investment (ROI) analysis of moving to HP Integrity

  • HP delivers Business Value Workshops worldwide, at no charge to customers, to quantify the value of a transition from existing platforms to HP Integrity servers.
  • In Business Value Workshops, HP employs sophisticated analysis tools built by Alinean, Inc., a leader in IT financial analysis and consulting.
  • The Alinean-developed toolset is based on industry-standard systems price and performance data and cost data for space, power and cooling, and labor, customized per country.

Fact 2: HP Evolution programs help ensure investment protection

  • The HP 9000 evolution program includes special offers, roadmaps, joint support of applications on HP 9000 and HP Integrity, joint transition planning to minimize disruption and cost, HP financial services offerings, and leasing arrangements to maximize the return on your investments.
  • Refurbished HP 9000 systems will be available until at least 2009.
  • Software trade-in credits and parallel usage policies pay big dividends during the move.

Fact 3: HP offers automated tools and services to simplify the move to HP Integrity servers

  • HP transition practices and tools automate processes using a proven five framework: awareness, plan, design, implement, manage. They integrate all the elements of an IT environment, including the platform infrastructure, internally developed software, ISV applications and databases.
  • Most of the tools and methodologies are available free of charge for customers seeking a do-it-yourself approach. Or, customers can request an HP Services implementation.
  • HP offers on-site engagements with HP transition experts to assist customers with their future projects or transition plans.

Fact 4: HP makes the transition easy for you

  • HP transition tools are easy for qualified customers to obtain. If you prefer to try tools out before downloading, you can do so on HP TestDrive servers.
  • Automation contained in HP’s transition tools minimizes complexity and potential errors while transferring code or data to the HP Integrity platform.
  • Knowledgeable HP Services personnel can provide expert advice and hands-on assistance, whether by performing a professional transition engagement, tuning your systems, or managing your final set of solutions.
