The Planning phase defines the tasks, investments and schedule to execute the chosen transition strategy. It is based on the environment and TCO analysis done during the Awareness phase. Making the transition as seamless to your business operations as possible requires a good blueprint. This usually starts with more detailed analysis of business priorities.
HP offers assessments for specific topics such as SAP infrastructure landscapes and data center consolidation, as well as custom evaluations to meet your specific needs. For each application area, an assessment can include:
- Taking inventory of your current environment to identify key applications and revisions, server platforms, operating system releases and storage capacity.
- Determining requirements for the new environment, taking into account the new capabilities of HP Integrity servers, blades, HP-UX and Storageworks.
During this phase, you will develop a transition plan that defines IT requirements, service level objectives, required functionality or ISV solution stack, transition schedule and available resources.
