Introduction
HP Web Jetadmin (WJA) has the ability to set the time on many devices with real-time clocks. All
current HP MFP products support this function (LJ 4345mfp, LJ 9040/9050mfp, CLJ 9500mfp, CLJ 4730mfp,
LJ M3027/3035 MFP, LJ M4345 MFP, LJ M5025/5035 MFP). Follow the steps below to set the new time after a time change.
Setting the time using Web Jetadmin
- Insure the server Web Jetadmin is running on has been updated to accommodate the new Daylight Saving Time (DST) rules. Also verify at what time of day the server will actually adjust.
- Place all devices you want set to the same time in a device group.
- Go to the device group and select all the devices (shift-click first and last).
- Select Configure Devices.
- Go to the Date and Time field, and enter the time when you want the time to change. For example, to adjust for Daylight Saving Time in the US select March 11, 2007, 03:01 (AM). Be sure to check the Date and Time box, but don't click Configure.
- Go to the top of the page and select Schedule Configuration.
- Set the configuration to happen One Time at the time you set in the step above (3:01 AM on March 11 in the example). WJA will adjust for latency in updating multiple devices.
- Optionally, you can manually initiate the time push-out by clicking on Configure in step 5 at the time you've entered to push out (in the example, click Configure at 3:01 AM).
- For this solution to work, the OS for the Web Jetadmin host system must have the correct DST rules. The system time must adjust prior to Web Jetadmin pushing out the new time.
