Customer-installable, low-cost DIMM and SIMM hardware solutions are recommended for customers in a non-Windows (DOS, UNIX) operating environment or using custom printing solutions. This solution can also be used for customers using a Windows environment, but we recommend the free software solution instead. The product numbers are as follows:

C4210A; DIMM 4000, 4500*, 5000, 8000, 8100*, Mopier 240 and Mopier 320
C4211A; SIMM1 LJ5, LJ5M, LJ5N, 6P, LJ5SI, LJ5SI Mopier
C4208A; SIMM2 LJ4 Series, 5P, Color LaserJet, Color LaserJet 5, and
Color LaserJet 5M
* For the LJ4500 and LJ8100 and early LJ2100 units you only need the DIMM if you require the Roman 9 or PC 858 symbol sets.

SIMM2 is an Intellifont and True Type based hardware solution for earlier printer models whereas, SIMM1 is for printers using True Type fonts.

The hardware DIMM and SIMM products are available through your local JetCAPs partner.
