Hewlett Packard is offering customers several ways to print the Euro character on HP LaserJet printers. Hewlett Packard has software solutions and hardware solutions that enables HP customers to select the upgrade path that best fits their environment. Third party offerings are available for those customers who need or desire additional solutions.

Some of the peripheral products introduced in Fall 1998 already have the Euro character as part of the standard internal fonts and/or software drivers that recognize the Euro character. The HP LaserJet 2100, 3100, 5000LE, 8100, and Mopier 320 and HP Color LaserJet 4500, and 8500 are currently enabled to print the Euro character in Windows 95/98 and NT 4.0.

HP provides the following solutions:

» Free HP font download
of the euro symbol in two typefaces for any operating system (Windows, DOS, UNIX, MAC).

» Free HP software download
of a complete and updated HP font set for Windows 95/98 and Windows NT 4.0.

» Low-cost hardware
DIMMs or SIMMs for printers that require resident fonts, or use custom fonts, or print from a non-Windows (UNIX, DOS) environment.

» Free HP software download
Free HP software download solution for HP LaserJet L series and 1100/1100A printers in a non-Windows (UNIX, DOS) environment.
