What is a service qualification?

A service qualification defines the technician training and testing requirements for delivering service and support for HP commercial products. Service qualification aligns to HP service partner programs. Each technician must hold the service qualification for a product or product group to be eligible to support it. In addition, their employer must be authorized as an HP Service Partner.

Service qualification vs. certification

Service qualification is the education program that is specifically for HP authorized service partners. Service qualification aligns to HP service partner programs for the support of commercial and some enterprise products including warranty repair.

For the products covered under your partner authorization agreement, service qualifications must be achieved before performing eligible support services.

Certifications are a requirement for many service qualifications. Earning a service qualification may require obtaining certification or obtaining certification plus additional testing or training. Certifications under the HP Certified Professional Program recognize technical expertise on HP technologies and solutions. The levels of certification align to technical skills and sales competencies.
