If you're looking for new ways to improve or organize your photos, check out Snapfish Lab. Experiment with media-processing tools emerging from HP Labs -- and provide feedback that could help shape imaging applications of the future.

Snapfish Lab offers these applications, and more are coming:

  • Poster Creator: Create posters by dragging pictures onto a flexible digital canvas.
  • Auto Crop: Improve image composition with this automatic tool.
  • Note Capture: Turn a photo of a book, card or whiteboard into a legible, printable copy.
  • Clear Note: Straighten an image of a book, card or whiteboard and correct its lighting and color.
  • Fisheye Visualization: View an album of photos without having to click through it.
  • Automatic Horizon Alignment: Detect the horizon in a lopsided image and straighten the picture up.

You can see samples of the tools in action on the web site. To try them yourself, you must have an account with Snapfish, HP's online photo service (it's free) and some images already stored on the site.

After you’ve used an application to improve a photo or create something new, you can save it to your regular Snapfish account, where you can order printed copies.

And don’t forget your feedback. HP researchers want to know how the tools are working for you.
