
This third session of OpenVMS Best Practices tackles the
real world problems of improving the Disaster Tolerance of
OpenVMS systems through use of Host Based Volume Shadowing.
As you might imagine, this session must also include the use
other Disaster Tolerant features within OpenVMS.
This training session will focus on
- The difference between High Availability and
Disaster Tolerance
- Methods to improve High Availability
- Methods to improve Disaster Tolerance
- Tools to understand the business issues
- Survey of technologies to replicate data
- Issues to address as the distance between sites
increases
- Methods to combat increased latency due to the
propagation of data over distance
Upcoming sessions will deal with OpenVMS and EVA storage
arrays, as well as OpenVMS and XP disk arrays.
