HP Serviceguard Extension for RAC (SGeRAC) allows a group of HP 9000 and HP Integrity servers to be configured as a highly available cluster that supports Oracle Real Application Clusters (RAC) on HP-UX PA-RISC and Intel Itanium platforms. SGeRAC exploits the best features of HP enterprise clusters and Oracle relational database servers: high availability, data integrity, flexibility, scalability, and reduced database administration costs.

- Rapid automatic detection and recovery times
- Integration with HP Virtual Server Environment (VSE)
- Integration with HP Serviceguard Cluster File System (CFS)
- Maintenance of service-level objectives during planned and unplanned downtime
- Ability to withstand multiple node failures
- Multiple cluster configurations
- Superior level of data protection for Oracle RAC
- Quick and easy deployment of applications
- Maximization of resource utilization
- Increased application availability
