This seminar is designed for system administrators, IT managers, and system architects who may be considering or beginning to implement a storage area network (SAN).

Introduction of basic SAN and Fibre Channel (FC) terms and protocols is followed by coverage of FC components, connection topologies, and rule sets. HP’s support of these technologies and topologies is discussed when applicable. The seminar concludes with a general discussion of SAN management issues and a Q&A session.

Topics include: Why SAN?...SAN functionality…SAN management…arbitrated loop…switched fabric…Fibre Channel initialization…Fibre Channel addressing…SAN zoning...and more.
