This presentation consists of two 1½-hour sections, which are delivered
consecutively.
Part 1: Provisioning OpenVMS on an Integrity Blade Using HP SIM and vMedia
Learn how to provision Integrity servers (BL860c, BL870c, 3600 and 6000) using
virtual Media (vMedia) and OpenVMS InfoServer. This session includes
demonstrations of the use of vMedia to create an ISO image, the use of
InfoServer for OpenVMS operating system installation and upgrades, and the use
of HP System Insight Manager (SIM) — along with provisioning and HP SIM hints
and tips.
You’ll receive expert guidance through all the steps required to prepare a
bare-bones Integrity server for OpenVMS booting. Plus, you’ll get valuable
background information on the OpenVMS InfoServer and its setup, as well as a
demonstration of the benefits of remote OpenVMS installation and upgrades.
Part 2: Technology Demonstration of OpenVMS as an HP Integrity Virtual
Machine (HPVM) Guest
This demo offers an introduction to creating and running OpenVMS guests on HP
Virtual Machine (HPVM). Session topics include: a base-level overview of HPVM;
options in setting up a guest operating environment; how to create an OpenVMS
guest; and OpenVMS installation.
Please Note: This is a technology demonstration of HP software that is
currently under development and planned for future release.
