
HP Data Protector (formerly HP OpenView Data Protector) 5.5 and 6.0 offer many significant features for enhancing mission-critical backup environments. This 7-hour instructor-led seminar provides a wealth of in-depth information for understanding and taking advantage of these innovations — as well as expert guidance on upgrading an existing Data Protector installation.
Attendees will learn how to:
- Plan an upgrade
- Utilize the advanced features of version 5.5, including object mirroring and copying, for tape consolidation or backup staging from disk to tape
- Utilize the advanced features of version 6.0, including object consolidation, new platforms supported, and integration with Microsoft Data Protection Manager (DPM) and Microsoft Volume Shadow Copy Service (VSS)
- Modify backup configurations to take advantage of multipath device configurations
This course is designed for administrators who are familiar with Data Protector or Omniback II.
