HP-UX Auto Port Aggregation provides the ability to “load balance” LAN traffic over multiple physical interfaces, using a “trunk" or “aggregate” mechanism, with widely available network protocols. In LAN Monitor mode, it also provides the means to automatically fail a LAN card over to one or more standby interfaces in the event of a hardware failure on the primary LAN connection.
This course focuses on APA product functionality to help participants determine which network applications will benefit most and how. Also discussed in detail are requirements of the cooperating network infrastructure (i.e., switches, hubs and routers), and APA installation and configuration. Examples and demonstrations of APA functionality round out the session.
The seminar targets HP-UX system and network administrators and systems engineers. Basic knowledge of switched Ethernet environments and HP-UX network configuration is needed to fully understand the information provided.
Offered: August 14, 2008
