Good health is a cornerstone to improving people’s lives, and health systems globally are struggling to deliver effective and efficient health care – in developing as well as in developed markets. In recent decades, information technology (IT) has transformed business processes in almost every sector, making products and services more available, efficient and cost effective. Healthcare systems worldwide have yet to take full advantage of information technology.

By establishing partnerships with leading NGOs, Enterprises, governments and other health organizations, HP is focused on delivering innovative, breakthrough solutions to tackle Health needs where they are most critically needed.

As the Number One IT provider to the global healthcare sector, HP is leveraging its technology leadership and expertise to the added benefit of social impact in two major ways:  by strengthening healthcare systems and by accelerating adoption and implementation of eHealth initiatives across the world.

Health Access and System Strengthening

Health access and system strengthening can dramatically improve quality of health services in emerging and developing countries. Our primary objective is to support transformation in emerging markets and fundamentally improve the efficiency and effectiveness of health delivery. Working closely with governments and strategic partners, we collaborate to create health system core process standards and improve efficiency and effectiveness of health systems through adoption of open standards.

Acceleration of e-Health solutions

Our aim is to improve access and delivery of health services by accelerating the implementation of e-Health solutions to underserved communities and organizations. Results from the WHO Global Observatory for e-Health, show that there is significant need for generic tools to support the clinical and administrative functions of health care services in both primary and secondary care. This includes systems of varying complexity such as electronic health records, patient administration, hospital information systems and general practitioner information systems. Implementing a wide variety of HP e-Health solutions like Digital Hospital in high need communities and markets can create significant improvement of health service quality.
