March 6, 2008 – HP today announced it has redesigned its advanced research group, HP Labs, to address the most complex challenges customers will face in the next decade. The new approach calls for bigger bets and accelerates the transfer of technology breakthroughs to customers.

The new HP Labs now consists of 23 focused labs spanning its seven worldwide locations. Collectively, the labs will be centered on five main areas; information explosion, dynamic cloud services, content transformation, intelligent infrastructure and sustainability.

At today’s event HP also presented demonstrations of a number of new, innovative technologies it plans to bring to market. These technologies will create new experiences, impact the way consumers live and work, and fundamentally change how people interact with information.
