HP Offers Small Businesses More Value for Better Business Results with Expanded HP Access Program

PALO ALTO, Calif., June 30, 2009

HP today announced updates to and expanded availability of HP Access, its small and midsize business (SMB) assistance program, making it easier than ever for people to save money while managing, protecting and growing their businesses.

Providing customers with discounts, free software and services, offers and training that are tailored to fit the needs of SMBs, HP Access is part of the HP Total Care program, which helps businesses get more value from their HP purchases.

Previously offered at a list price of $49, HP Access is now free with the purchase of any HP product. Customers wanting to participate simply request an access code and they will receive an email from HP with the information and a link to the HP Access website. New customers, as well as those who purchased an HP product in the last 12 months, can take advantage of offers on the site.

HP also has expanded the program for its channel partners, allowing them to pass along benefits to their customers. For customers purchasing products from a channel partner, the email containing the access code will come from the partner.

“It’s a tough time for any small business right now and everyone is looking for ways to save money while continuing to grow their business,” said Fred Bullock, vice president, marketing, Personal Systems Group – Americas, HP. “By combining HP’s strengths with those of select partners, we are pleased to make it simple for our customers to save money immediately on things that can benefit their businesses.”

In addition to being free, HP Access is making it easier for businesses to find solutions specifically tailored to their needs. On the newly revamped website, customers can find smart and simple solutions for key business milestones, including:

  • Starting a business
  • Protecting what’s valuable
  • Generating revenue
  • Improving productivity
  • Consolidating branch offices
  • Greening a business

With HP Access, businesses can take advantage of more than $1,000 worth of offers and discounts including:

  • Web design: Save more than $500 on website design with Logoworks by HP. The HP Access special price is $799 and provides businesses with a professional website at an affordable price.
  • Web domain hosting: Take advantage of a special HP Access discount from Yahoo! Small Business for web domain hosting. Launch a professional site, with easy-to-use tools, including a free web address, design wizards, unlimited disk space, email storage and data transfer with 24-hour customer support.
  • Credit card processing: Start accepting credit card payments with a free Intuit Credit Card Processing Kit, valued at $39.95, which enables faster transactions through major credit cards. Offer also includes a free software download from QuickBooks and QuickBooks Merchant Services for PCs that automatically enters the transaction into the accounting software.
  • HP Secure Remote Access: Get a free 30-day trial – a $249 value. Cut costs and improve productivity with Citrix XenApp Fundamentals. This simple, cost-effective remote access solution delivers Windows® applications to users anywhere and on any device. With XenApp Fundamentals, a business can securely store applications and files on a central server and deliver them to users via an Internet connection.
  • Symantec Software Virtualization Solution (SVS) – One free license: By placing applications and data into managed units called Virtual Software Packages, SVS allows a business to instantly activate, deactivate or reset applications, to eliminate application conflicts, and to remove them cleanly without altering the base Windows installation. Offer includes six months of Symantec basic maintenance and other exclusive rebates.
  • Press release distribution: Maximize publicity for a business and increase visibility online with a free press release distribution from PR Web, valued at $80.

HP Access members are now eligible to receive a $50-$200 rebate on select server, storage and software products purchased between July 1 and Oct. 31, 2009.

On July 1, HP is refreshing the 2009 Trade-In and Save program. In addition to getting the HP Access benefits, businesses will receive up to $1,000 cash back when purchasing a qualifying HP printer and trading-in an old printer.
