HP Offers New Web Solutions for Creative Print Projects, Small Business Marketing; Introduces Wireless Printers

Company commits to full wireless HP Photosmart printer lineup by 2010

SAN DIEGO, Calif., Oct. 7, 2008

HP today introduced offerings aimed at capturing a greater share of the combined $200 billion consumer personal publishing and small business marketing collateral markets.(1)

The HP Creative Studio , an online portal for creative projects, provides easy access to online tools from HP as well as nearly 30 partners. MarketSplash by HP offers affordable marketing services to small business customers.

HP also introduced new wireless printers and committed to expand the entire HP Photosmart printer lineup with wireless capabilities by 2010. Highlighting the new models is the Limited Edition HP Photosmart C4599 All-in-One , which features a sleek design and piano-black finish to match HP Pavilion notebook computers. Notebook PC sales have increased by 50 percent each year since 2006,(2) presenting a large opportunity for HP to attach wireless printers at the point of sale.

“We’re unleashing creative content and offering new ways for customers to tell and publish their stories,” said Vyomesh Joshi, executive vice president, Imaging and Printing Group, HP. “Ultimately, HP will be there to print what the customer wants, where they want it and how they want it, whether its wirelessly at home, online, in the office or at retail.”

Gateway to creative projects

The HP Creative Studio is a comprehensive online resource that provides consumers and small businesses with a single entry point to HP’s web services – such as Snapfish by HP , Logoworks by HP and the HP Activity Center – and creative projects from popular brands such as Martha Stewart Living Omnimedia, Disney and DreamWorks.

With the click of a mouse, users can explore the studio, create projects and print customized, professional-looking materials – from invitations to business cards – easily and economically.

Small businesses can access the wide range of affordable, easy-to-use, do-it-yourself products, along with custom services and special offers to help market and grow their businesses. Everything from small business marketing material templates and custom logo designs, to email marketing solutions and press release distribution are easily searchable and available.

Affordable small business marketing services

In November, the HP Creative Studio for business will expand to include a new set of small business marketing services with MarketSplash by HP , a one-stop, web-based shop that provides premium do-it-yourself online templates and award-winning custom design with some of the industry’s lowest pricing and fastest delivery times for design and fulfillment.

MarketSplash lets small businesses access a range of marketing products and services – from business stationery, brochures, logos and website design to one-on-one brand design consultation services – and take advantage of the convenience of choosing to complete and print their projects from their own printers, through a print service provider (for delivery via mail) or, eventually, print to a local retailer (for pick up in person).

In addition to offering small business marketing services directly to customers through MarketSplash.com , HP will license the MarketSplash platform and application to print service providers and retailers for co-branding, allowing them to offer these print services directly to their customers.

Freedom and flexibility with new HP printers

HP’s new lineup of wireless printers includes three models that allow customers to print with ease from anywhere in the home.(3) The HP Photosmart C4500 All-in-One Series , the Limited Edition HP Photosmart C4599 All-in One and the HP Photosmart C6300 All-in-One Series offer built-in wireless capabilities(3) and are available for $129, $149 and $199, respectively.(4)

HP also introduced two models for convenient printing at home. The HP Photosmart C5500 All-in-One Series is Bluetooth®-enabled for convenient printing from camera phones or other Bluetooth-enabled devices and available for $149.(4) >

In addition, the HP Photosmart D7560 All-in-One is available for $149(4) and features a 3.5-inch color touchscreen and the ability to print directly on CDs and DVDs. The printer also includes HP’s latest five-ink dual-drop-volume technology that allows users to print finely detailed images and graphics.

HP also offers high-capacity HP 564XL cartridges, which provide three times more black printed pages and two-and-a-half times more color printed pages than standard Original HP ink cartridges .(5) The HP 564 Photo Value Pack offers customers increased savings with 150 sheets of 4 x 6-inch improved HP Advanced Photo Paper and four HP 564 dye ink cartridges filled with HP Vivera inks .

For customers who may need extra help setting up a home wireless network or connecting wireless printers, HP introduced an in-home secure wireless network setup and installation service. Through the service, an HP installation technician will come to the customer’s home, by appointment, to connect the customer’s router to his or her broadband service and a central PC. The technician also will connect up to two additional wireless devices to the home network and arrange printer sharing. The service is available exclusively through www.hpshopping.com at a starting price of $159.(4)
