Cúram Software and HP Deliver Social Service Solutions to Public Sector Agencies Worldwide

HERNDON, VA., Aug 8, 2006

Cúram Software, the leading provider of Social Enterprise Management (SEM) software solutions, and HP today announced a new global agreement to deliver a comprehensive SEM solution to public sector agencies worldwide.

Consisting of hardware, software, and Web services, the SEM solution is designed to improve the overall quality and efficiency of service delivery by empowering agencies to overcome boundaries, simplify business processes, and integrate new applications into a holistic citizen-centric overview. Based on Service-Oriented Architecture (SOA), open, and industry-standard systems, the solution represents an alternative to transfer and legacy mainframe systems.

“This global agreement provides a top tier, end-to-end solution for government agencies around the world to realize the benefits of an SEM approach,” said Ernie Connon, Executive Vice President, Cúram Software.  “The Cúram Software and HP solution leverages world-class implementation methodologies and an extensible business application suite, enabling government agencies to deliver outcomes-based benefits and services to citizens.”

SEM is a new category of enterprise software that is citizen-centric and leverages commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) products to transform as well as modernize health, human services, labor, and social security agencies. SEM provides a comprehensive enterprise eligibility IT solution crossing agency boundaries, simplifying policies, and integrating with existing technology. SEM fosters holistic, convenient services for citizens as well as provides screening for needs and referrals to state and community-based resources.

“Working with Cúram Software, HP is offering a comprehensive social services solution tailored to the specific needs of civilian agencies – from the device to the desktop to the data center,” said Enrique Barkey, Worldwide Director, Civilian Agency Solutions, HP. “We look forward to empowering social enterprises to greatly improve their client services while reducing IT capital and operating costs.”

As part of the agreement, Cúram Software installed the Cúram Business Application Suite™ on HP Integrity servers running the HP-UX 11i operating system. The Cúram Business Application Suite provides industry-leading applications and a common business platform to address the unique needs of human services, health, workforce services, and social security organizations globally. The Cúram Enterprise Framework™ enables the adoption of technology for future business needs in a quick and efficient manner. HP Integrity servers provide the foundation for a highly scalable and adaptive social enterprise management infrastructure to handle thousands of cases simultaneously, with flexibility that responds automatically to changing caseload demands.

A team of seasoned professionals at an HP Center of Excellence will deploy and support customer proofs-of-concept and manage Cúram Software implementations worldwide. The team will help customers identify opportunities for innovation and provide the methodologies to facilitate successful implementation projects.

Designed using the implementation practices of the HP e-Government framework, HP’s SEM solutions empower government modernization processes by allowing public agencies to more easily deliver new online services to citizens while leveraging existing IT investments.
