Contest Awards Real Estate Professionals with HP Mobility Products PALO ALTO, Calif., May 18, 2006
HP today announced the launch of its third annual contest to recognize real estate professionals using technology to provide clients with a better and more personalized experience. The HP Real Estate Technology Contest is open to U.S.-based real estate professionals who use technology in creative and extraordinary ways to increase sales, save time and best the competition. Applications for the contest, which runs through Aug. 30, 2006, are available online at www.hp.com/go/realtorcontest. With technology, real estate professionals can be more productive and efficient while on the road and can even create full-color property fliers and other marketing materials tailored for their clients. “HP provides real estate professionals with personalized and relevant mobile technologies, so they can productively serve their clients, stay ahead of the competition and focus on their business,” said Lisa Hopkins, manager, vertical marketing – Americas, HP. “The HP Real Estate Technology Contest is a fun way for us to reward real estate pros who demonstrate the benefits technology can bring to themselves and their clients.” Contest details A panel of industry and technology experts in the fields of real estate, technology, digital imaging and photography, printing, small business and marketing communications will review and evaluate all the entries for the 2006 HP Real Estate Technology Contest. The grand prize winner and runner-ups selected by the panel will be announced during the 2006 REALTORS® Conference and Expo in New Orleans, Nov. 10 - 13. This year’s contest winners will receive a variety of mobility products to help them stay productive, including:
Last year’s grand prize winner, Bev Sousa of Coldwell Banker Property Showcase in Deltona, Fla., uses HP technology to develop professional-looking marketing materials while on the go. In her contest entry, Sousa related that the portable office she created using HP products helped her become the No. 1 producer in her office and the No. 2 producer in her company at that time. “The real estate business is increasingly competitive, so I recognized that I needed to find a way to provide additional value to potential clients. With my HP notebook, iPAQ Pocket PC and mobile printer, I have all the tools I need to service my clients on the go,” said Sousa. “I can quickly find new listings using mapping software on my HP iPAQ Pocket PC and even use the HP Real Estate Marketing Assistant Software to create personalized materials for them to take with them after viewing a home. That personal touch means a lot to my clients and sets me apart from other real estate professionals.” Last year’s second prize winner, Becky Robertson of Prudential Georgia Realty in Woodstock, Ga., attributes her success to simple and relevant mobile technologies that help her balance her commitments to her clients and her family. Using a suite of mobile products, Robertson can work wherever she is and respond quickly to clients’ needs, create sales materials and even seal deals while on the road. New mobile products keep real estate professionals connected During its recent Mobility Summit, HP introduced two business notebook PC series that make it easier for small and mid-size businesses to enjoy always-on, always-ready mobile computing. Among the products introduced was the HP Compaq nc2400 Notebook PC, the company’s thinnest and lightest business notebook with an optical drive. With a starting weight of less than 3 pounds and less than one-inch thick, the nc2400 also has a variety of wired and wireless(1) communication capabilities, making it ideal for real estate professionals. Also of note is the HP Compaq nx7400 Notebook PC, which is targeted for price-conscious real estate professionals looking for performance and a widescreen display in a thin-and-light package. Additionally, new flexible financial solutions for small and medium business customers are available, including low-rate financing and leases.
