HPshopping.com Honored with Best Computer Retailer Website Award for Fifth Consecutive Year

Excellent customer experience and creative features make HP's online store the best of its class year after year

PALO ALTO, Calif., Sept. 21, 2005

HP today announced that its online consumer store, hpshopping.com, has earned its fifth consecutive win in the Best Computer Retailer Web Site category in the 2005 WebAward competition sponsored by the Web Marketing Association.

Judged on seven different criteria, including design, innovation, content, technology, interactivity, copywriting and ease of use, the eighth annual WebAward competition recognizes outstanding corporate websites that are judged against Internet standard and peer sites within their industry.

HPshopping.com consistently delivers an engaging online shopping experience by offering a variety of research and shopping options. Enhancements over the last year include:

  • Search engine that allows customers to sort and narrow their search results by a wide range of attributes;

  • Product advisor tools to make informed purchasing decisions;

  • Configurator that enables customers to build solutions to fit their specific needs;

  • Personalization features, such as a persistent cart that automatically remembers items added to a customer's virtual shopping cart and the option to view recently browsed products and relevant cross-selling recommendations.

Additionally, hpshopping.com offers various shipping options, such as allowing customers the convenience of ordering numerous products as late as 10 p.m. ET and having them delivered the next morning.

These key features, combined with hpshopping.com's award-winning customer service and hassle-free returns, enable customers to have simple and rewarding browsing and buying experiences.

"We are extremely pleased that the Web Marketing Association has once again awarded hpshopping.com with its prestigious Best Computer Retailer Web site award," said Susan Boyce, chief marketing officer, hpshopping.com. "This award validates hpshopping's commitment to delivering the best total customer experience. Year after year, the bar climbs higher, so we are honored to be recognized as the best of the industry in this category."

Established in 1997, the Web Marketing Association has set a high standard for Internet marketing and corporate web development on the World Wide Web. The Boston-based organization is staffed by volunteers and is made up of Internet marketing, advertising, PR and design professionals from across the nation. Judges for its 2005 WebAward competition included members of the media, advertising executives, site designers, content providers and webmasters.
