HP Rolls Out Identity Management Solutions with Federation, Automation and Compliance Capabilities Company extends relationship with Citrix Systems for enterprise single sign-on SAN DIEGO, July 13, 2005HP today introduced enhanced identity management software solutions with federation, advanced automation, compliance and reporting capabilities. Part of its award-winning HP OpenView identity management suite, the updated versions have also been further integrated to ease use across the portfolio. HP also extended its relationship with Citrix Systems, Inc., to provide consolidated audit reporting via HP OpenView, capturing enterprise single sign-on (ESSO) audit log information generated by Citrix Password Manager™. By providing the means to effectively control access to information, HP OpenView identity management solutions reduce costs, increase security and help businesses to meet regulatory compliance. "HP OpenView Identity Management solutions help Adaptive Enterprises meet their security and compliance requirements while effectively managing ongoing business growth and change," said Todd DeLaughter, vice president and general manager, Management Software Business, HP. "These new releases allow our customers to run their business as a set of processes and services, and not just as a set of servers and applications." HP made the announcements at the 12th annual Catalyst Conference North America, an educational forum focused on security, identity management, application platforms and network infrastructure technologies. The conference is hosted by Burton Group, a research and advisory services firm that focuses exclusively on infrastructure technologies for global enterprise clients. "The maturing of HP's identity management suite reduces the integration burden and extends the value of HP's solution for its OpenView customers," said Phil Schacter, vice president and service director, Burton Group. "Identity and access management services are a critical component in enterprise security and privacy strategies, and in the systems needed to effectively manage the IT infrastructure." Federation, which uses industry-standard protocols to link multiple accounts with different providers on the Internet, plays an important role in the HP OpenView identity management suite: when users navigate to different sites belonging to the same federation, HP OpenView software recognizes that user and is able to provide a secure, personalized experience based on the user's preferences and identity. Process automation, ease of use and fast deployment also help users manage change effectively. Integration across the suite now includes common user interfaces (UI), installations, terminology and ongoing integration of common audit and reporting infrastructure, as well as the following features for the offerings below: HP OpenView Select Federation 6.5
